After four decades of eyecare, Mark is retiring.
‘All good things must come to an end’ is a well-known adage. So, after a most rewarding 40 years as an optometrist, I am writing to advise you of my planned retirement towards the end of this year.
I thank you for the trust you have given me to look after your eyecare – for many of you and your families this spans over several decades and/or generations.
The interactions with you, my patients, has undoubtedly been the best part of the job. At the same time there have been amazing advances in technology, expanding the depth of our examination service and improved optics in the lenses we prescribe. Being your optometrist over this time has provided me a long and satisfying career for which I am very thankful.
Part of the timing of my decision is also knowing Wills Street Eyecare is well placed to ensure you continue to receive excellent care. There is an experienced and stable team who I am confident will continue to care for your needs. Rose Larosa has been with us for over four years, and will be joining Kirily Bowen as a partner in the practice from July. Ava Ward came to join us earlier in the year. Ava is a Bendigo local, had her Optometry Internship with us, and has now returned to practice at Wills Street Eyecare. A fourth optometrist, also with several years experience, will be joining the practice later in the year.
Kirily, Rose, Ava and our new optometrist will be available to continue your care. The front of house team will continue to provide their exceptional service for you. And of course, all your records will remain at the Practice.
So if you’re in the outback next year, keep an eye out for a white Jeep with
caravan and two beagles in tow!
