Our Facilities

Wills Street Eyecare has parking at the front door, with wheelchair accessible consulting rooms and conveniences.  There is room to navigate a walker, a pram or a whole family and we even provide a baby change table for our youngest patients.

Our Consulting Equipment

At Wills Street Eyecare, we are continually investing in the latest technology for consulting equipment. Our consulting rooms, digital imaging room and reception are all computer-networked, for easy and instantaneous access to your records.

All three of our consulting rooms are equipped with:

  • Optometry-specific consulting chair unit (incorporating refractorhead lens unit)
  • Digital retinal camera
  • Digital anterior eye camera
  • Slit lamp microscope for anterior and posterior eye viewing.
  • Tonometer for measuring eye pressure for glaucoma

Our digital imaging room contains:

OCT Retinal Scanner

This instrument is a high resolution ultrasound scan of your eyes, measuring retinal nerve thickness and providing 3D imaging of the retinal layers and iris structures. It plays a vital role in detecting and monitoring conditions of the macula and optic nerve.

Corneal Topographer

This instrument measures the corneal shape. It is used for fitting contact lenses and assessing suitability for laser refractive surgery. It is also used to monitor certain eye conditions, such as astigmatism and keratoconus.

Corneal Pachymetry

This instrument uses ultrasound to measure the thickness of your cornea.  It is an essential tool for glaucoma detection and for any conditions or surgery involving the cornea.

Automated Visual Field Analyser

A visual field test assesses the sensitivity of your peripheral vision.  This is helpful in conditions that might affect peripheral vision, such as glaucoma or stroke.

Our 'Humphrey' visual field analyser includes the 'Binocular Esterman' driving test often requested by VicRoads.
