What symptoms do I need to be concerned about?
- Red eyes
- Sore eyes
- Injured eyes (eg scratch, metal or other foreign body)
- Sudden vision loss or distorted vision
- Double vision
- New floaters or spots in your vision
- Flashing or flickering lights in your peripheral vision
Our optometrists are experienced in diagnosing red eye causes and have the same authority as your GP to prescribe eye drops for infection or inflammation.
For more serious eye conditions, we can arrange an emergency referral to ophthalmology as needed.
Do you have something stuck or lodged in your eye?
If you have anything trapped in your eye (we call it a 'foreign body'), you need to have it treated immediately. Our optometrists will anaesthetise the area and expertly remove the offending particle.
